Dear Laurie,

I came across a song/game shared by a friend of mine that may or may not be Haitian. I'm unsure of the spelling but maybe you will recognize it anyways. I have no clue what it means though.

The leader would say each line and the others would repeat just as the leader did. There were body actions as well for each line.

OH MA CHE CHE
(repeat)
CHE CHE GORE
(repeat)
GORE RESO
(repeat)
RESO RESO MUNGA
(repeat)
SA SA MUNGA
(repeat)
SASASA SA SA MUNGA
(repeat)
MUNGA!!!
(repeat)

apparently, i've heared it had roots in Haiti, then was brought by someone to Alaska where my friend was visiting, then this friend brought it to Rwanda where I was and we continued teaching it...not knowing what it was.
if you can help me understand this at all please post a message on my website:

my grandmother sang it to all 7 of her children and all grandchildren and great grandchildren! luckily it's something i was able to hear her sing over and over through out the years. my mom and dad also sang me to sleep with this song. and now i sing to my four children. so far, it has been all of their first word! my girls all sing to their baby dolls! it's precious. i love this song. always makes me think of my wonderful family.
